Call Me Smasher

The first action film I ever saw was "Star Wars: A New Hope". It came out 1977 but I was born way past that. I was around five when I viewed it, and back then I didn't care for the talking animals, aliens or robots. I wasn't even amazed by the possibility of flying through outer space. It was the action that drew my attention too it. The first object I grabbed, after watching the movie, was a stick to reenact the scenes with a lightsaber.

Action films has always fascinated me. The way it depicts the characters always shows a cool charisma that everyone wants to be like. It captures your imagination on the possibilities that can happen in a tight situation. Although, it is not always possible, it expands the creativity of a person on the possibilities he or she can do. I see the way action films has always made its viewers reenact the scenes. I admit that I have reenacted scenes that is way ahead of my physical abilities, but that adrenaline rush that you get doing it is what makes action films "Awesome!"

I have so much more to learn about action films. I know for a fact that it is not only the explosions and fight scene that makes an action film. What about the story? What about the setting? The history of action? How has it changed over the years? Its influence on society? Back then I only cared about the action but now I want to know what goes behind in making the film and how it affect its viewers.
