Angle? Sex? Violence?

Angle? Sex? Violence?

Was it the angle in The Matrix that attracted the eyes of the audience? Was it the constant change of women James Bond encountered and slept with that brought in a male audience? Was it the handsome, sculpted Chris Hemsworth in Thor that attracted the female audience and ignited their estrogen? Why does the rev of the engines in The Fast and the Furious spark our adrenaline? The entire design of an action film has a purpose, usually evoking several emotions at once, thus providing the viewer with a sense of excitement and satisfaction.
What is it about action films that defines them? Why do they attract us? What makes an action movie successful? Maybe there isn't one answer. Maybe each movie has its own persona and reason for its success, or not. But is success measured in the revenue made from the movie, or from reviews and critique?
Our versatility of personality provide many perspectives of analysis. A female's perspective of what is commonly thought of as a testosterone driven film can be refreshing. A film analyst who has yet to "get his feet wet" in the world of action film. A curious mind who projects the voice of the common audience. The military officer who has been "the action flick". Together we form a unique and diverse system of analysis not usually found amongst critics. We are here to voice what is behind the usage of a tool made for box office success.
Together we form - Guns, Girl, Action!
